Hello all and Happy new year!
Got my Xperience 28/12 and it had it's maiden flight yesterday 02/1. Quite easy and straightforward construction and thanks also to the great info given by all in this forum. As all of you know, it flies like a dream. Mine is fitted with a Hacker B40-11L 4.4:1 and 3S 3400 Lipo.

Yes Chris, I agree. Was trying to start at 104mm but with all batteries back I got 100mm only, which is clearly too far forward. This is why I modified the RX battery in order to displace all weight further back and play with CG around 104-105 mm as a starting point. Now that I have "space" to play, let's see if weather plays also

Don´t worry too much. The CG of my XP is on 102 mm and it´s more than OK.

Just came back home after flying with new CG at about 106mm. It can be still shifted back but now it flies very well. Everything woks as it should but for the very light tendency to nose up at speed. I like it more neutral (perhaps a couple of mm back will do the trick. Still impressed by its capacity to penetrate the wind (was strong, about 20 to 25 Km/h) with its weight of only 2600gr (has 34oomAh batteries at this time). Will fly it in calmer conditions before deciding upon final CG. He will tell me the right posiion sooner or later
Used a curve mixer for elev/spoiler and now there is no tendency at all, just a slight nose down (intended) and with no change in trayectory (very powerful braking effect indeed!)

I am waiting for better weather condition here in grey & cold Germany.
Furthermore it´s much too windy: winter gale "Andrea" is approaching us with speed gusts upto 85 km/h in my area.

Good luck with Andrea, have seen some images here in TV news, does not look nice at all.
A couple of years ago we had here the "Delta", a tropical storm. I measured at home 140 Km/h ... hope it does not repeat, makes the slope lift useless
We are waiting much better wx for the weekend, it may be time for some scale towing (in t-shirt and short pants !) and in towing pauses it could be time for some Xperiencing...

Today we had an "almost calm day" without any significant lift nor turbulences, just the type of weather needed for trimming. By this time I'm still flying with 106-107mm which shows almost no recovery tendency after a dive. Will keep the position there for a good while as the rest of performance (slow, fast, circling...) is very satisfying.
Will include a photo "just" before touch-down on landing, shot by my daughter

Ich bin nun auch dabei mir einen XP pro e zu bauen, nach langem überlegen bin ich zum Entschluss gekommen die kst-ds125 für die Fläche zu nehmen. Die futaba haben für meinen Geschmack mit 3kg etwas wenig Dampf, die kst haben 7
Motor hab ich auch schon verbaut, Hacker b40-9s. Was mich nur etwas stört das ich an einem 770 Euro Flieger noch am Höhenruder feilen muss weil der Ausschlag nicht gepast hat. Das ist verbesserungs bedürftig
Habt ihr in den ausenflächen Stecker für die servo Verbindung drin oder habt ihr das Kabel einfach durch gezogen?

ich habe die Buchsen in den Inenflächen eingekelbt und die Stecker in den Aussenflügeln lose (durch einen Schrumpfschlauch vor dem Scheuern geschützt) herausgeführt. Ich mag die Vorstellung nicht, dass die Steckverbindung nicht genau rechtwinklig zueinander steht und mit der Zeit vielleicht ein mechansiches Problem ein elektrisches hervorruft ...

So heute war Erstflug, bin noch nicht so glücklich damit. Aus Erfahrung weiß ich das man den Schwerpunkt eig im vorderen 3tel der Fläche halten soll, wundere mich daher das er beim XP mit 105 fast in der Mitte liegt? 
Hatte einen 3s 3000 er drin damit bin ich kaum richtig hin gekommen, musste immer tief trimmen. Werde morgen mal einen 3s 5000er testen, denke mit dem etwas mehr an Gewicht fliegt der XP dynamischer und nicht gar so langsam.
Muss man eig ewd einstellen oder nicht?

I keep mine on 105, elevator is neutral for neutral flap setting and is able to speed up nicely with o flaps or when raised 1mm. Here it shows that it is on the back limit, trying to take nose down but well controlled with trim.
Nice you have yours in the air, it's a very nice flying "thing"

also ich fliege meinen bei 100mm und habe übrigens die V-Version. Mein Sohn fliegt die X-Version im selben Setup. Damit sind wir ganz leicht kopflastig. 105mm erscheint mir schon sehr weit hinten. Meiner fing bei 102mm auf dem Höhenruder viel zu sensibel zu werden.
