First season of flying of GP 14 velo has gone so it's time to reasume
and write some opinion.
Configuration of version which I ordered was basic with 6 flap wings,
air brakes and with some additional parts like cnc cutted doors for
landing gear , GFK basic set of cockpit parts and cutted and painted
canopy without lock.
Equipment which Im using:
Wings:
* flaps and ailerons KST X10
* airbrakes KST X10 mini
* stabilizer Hitec D645MW
* rudder Hitec 5645MG
* tow hook Hitec 5645MG
* landing gear servo KST DS2509MG

As a main cable connector I used DB15
some photos below
Maiden flights were at my club airfield.

First points that I saw was that model perfectly "slide" on passage and
flight to the other side of airfield last a moment without significant
height loss, whats important do not slow down into the wind. Currently
weight of model is 11500g what with wing area 115dm gives exactly
100g/dm2 and this is low level of range of this model load. Next year
I'm planning to test the model with additional balast to achieve
110g/dm2.
Two weeks after maiden flight I had chance to participate model meeting
at a historical glider mountain in Jeżów Sudecki, where real Grunau Baby
gliders were created, before war large german glider center where Hanna
Reitsch came from. GP at the meeting aroused interest among present
modellers. Few shots from this day can be seen in movie.
Time to refresh equipment came after 14 years of flying with vario
Pitlab and 10 years with Futaba 12FG. GP14 was again programmed with
18SZ radio and R7014SB receiver.
Follower of SkyAssistant became:
https://www.sm-modellbau.de/GPS-Logger-2-und-Zubehoer [2] .
It supports most of systems in the market and has practically set of all
sensors needed in glider. Producer of the model mounted at the phase of
builing of fuse TEK hose and now there was occasion to use this
installation.
After many flights, feeling the model well with a set of edge at neutrum
I started to test settings of flaps, checking live during the flight
parameters on LCD of TX.
Last two flying days of November I decided to fly to check how the
parameters of motel really presents.
Average measurements of model with load 100g/dm2, CG 138mm:
* all edge in position 0 (speed 72km/h, descent 0,8m/s ]
* flap 3,5mm / inner flap 3mm / aileron 2,5mm [ speed 54km/h descent
0,55-0,6m/s ]
L\D ratio of model is about 25-27 what lets easily and safe to go far
looking for thermal column even having just 100m AGL.
Huge adventage of this model is quite neutral behave at circulating
especially at strong wind / model do not slow down much into the wind,
what accure with models with popular airfoils HQ series.
I'm planning to repeat measuremets early morning with totally windless
weather and with new vario firmware.
From additional sets I'm using outer and inner aileron 3mm, flaps 5mm to
tow the model by Morawa with engine ZDZ80cm3.
At the winter I'm planning to work a little bit at scale cockpit, change
mylars on the wings and install brake on the main wheel.
Here is a link to video from last flights this year.
As an interesting thing from loop from this movie:
* speed before entering the loop 189 km/h
* loop diameter 70m
* load 4,5G
