Hello
My Rebel is almost finished, i would like to explain my experience because i'm curious if this is normal with Carf or if i just had bad luck.
When i choose the plane, one strong point was the idea that carf is a top notch brand... in the same level as for example baudis. I considered that the price was because i was buying a quality product. I bought a complete package from Carf, including mcgregor servos and jp retracts.
Wings
- the openings in the wing skin for the retracts where not in the same position in both surfaces.... also in one surface retract mount was shorter than the other. So i needed to remove a part of the wood to move one retract forward the fuse and tune both openings so gear can move
Elevators
- openings for servo arms not in same position in both surfaces
- elevator rib where servo is mounted not aligned parallel to openings
I honestly expected more precision when the plane was made as errors where very obvious and not small cosmetic details, if this was a Chinese kit i will not complain as you get what you paid for but in this case i will expect more from this brand and also better support, at least to admit that a mistake was made. Imo the retracts issue is the worst of all as those create a weak point in a important part of the jet.
I am really disappointed with this brand, it was clearly a B kit that was not discarded at the factory, and was sent to me. Photos were provided as a sample of the "defects" but there was no solution offered from the manufacturer, i have the bad feeling to be scammed.
I just had bad luck? Or is it something more common?
Thanks
